Tenganan Village, Bali.

Never tired to say "Hello, world"

By the way, The world is changing more and more quickly, isn't it? Let's face the fact, guys :)

Now, i want to tell you story about how i first talked about local culture to japanese tourists. When i was in senior high school, I visited Tenganan Village with my classmate. Tenganan Village is one of the oldest Balinese traditional located in Karangasem, East part of Bali. Visitors will feel comfortable when visiting this area, for some facilities are available here, like food stalls, good toilets, arts shops and a quite large parking area. As a result, many tourists come to Tenganan Village every year.

It just amazing to see how a place could tell you a lot of history. After a few hours of exploring Tenganan Village, finally we got tired and decided to back to the bus. Everyone turned around and came back to where they started. It was fun! On the way back to the bus, we met two Japanase tourists, they are a married couple. We talked a lot about the cultures in Tenganan Village. They could not Indonesian, then we used Japanese. Yeyeye... I've been longing for this opportunity for so long.. :)

Talk about the beauty of Tenganan Village, I''ve always been interested in handicraft, and these things  about traditional handicraft is awesome. Tenganan village is the only village that today still produces geringsing. Geringsing is a textile created by the double ikat method in the Tenganan Pegeringsingan Village in Bali. This demanding technique is only known in three places, India, Japan and Indonesia. In Indonesia it is only produced in Tenganan.

The tourists wandered around the village. Some of them as well as local people come to the Tenganan for shopping. The people in this village, generally speaking, are kind to visitors. Therefore, visitors to Tenganan Village increase in number year by year.

Tenganan Village?
(Tenganan Village? Wow, it's swarming with tourists !)

Great Family (家族)

Hello, people of the world!

I'm feeling a little bit unwell today. Just laying on my bed and watching TV. Today is holiday, I hate feeling so unproductive so I decided to update my new blog as often as i can. :) Alone in my room, I began to get homesick :(( Yea, I feel homesick.

"In nostalgic moments we may tend to think of childhood as a time of almost unbroken happiness."

Well, before going any further, I wanna tell you about a figure of great people who have always sopported me. They are no one but my family. My mother is a very formidable. She always works tirelessly. My father is my HERO. He told me a lot about tourism in Bali. Wherever you go in Bali, you'll find Japanese Tourists. My father also introduced me to his Japanese friends. Beside that he always gives  books abou Japan which are very useful for my study and thesis references. I also have a younger brother who always be a nuisance with his Japanese homework. hahaha. Although he is a little ignorant, but i know that he loves me :) My Odah and Kak are really important for me. My grandparents always encourage me for every step I choose. I honestly felt embarrassed because my grandparents were good at singing Japanese songs.

Since I was little, I joined many modeling competitions, presenting competitions, modern dance and also Bali dance competitions to train my self-confidence. As a result, I've always been confident and self-reliant in social life up until now. :)

Dad, Mom... Look at your little monster. :)) :

Well, Education by the parents of their children is important. I hope their prayers will always be with me for being successful in the future. :))

Japanese Speech Contest

Hello, world. Good night, Indonesia.
Because tomorrow will be a holiday, i would like to tell you about my precious experience.

I had a Japanese Speech Contest when i was in senior high school. :) The theme of my speech is very simple, which is about the habit of reading. I compare the reading habit in Japan and in Indonesia. In Japan the habit of reading is inherent in every person. But what about in Indonesia? This is still a big question mark, isn't it?

my speech :

What was the result? it was so suprising. That was my first experience and i got the 6th rank although my ability was not good enough. I was very proud at that time but still i had a willingness to be the first winner, and i will do my best in the next competition which will be held on may ! yeyeye !

The Reason of Choosing Japanese Literature

Let me tell you the beginning of my interest to learn Japanese language.

It wasn't about manga 漫画 (comic), anime or even kanji 漢字 to be my reason of choosing Japanese literature as my major. Yet, it was simlpy because I adore the character of Japanese people. Before i moved to Yogyakarta i had a Japanese friend who was also my teacher in Bali. Her name is Yumiko. She is from Osaka, Japan. :)

This is an old photo with Yumiko-sensei
古い写真 (the old picture with Yumiko-san)

From Yumiko-san I learned a lot about basic japanese language and japanese culture. I also came to know that the Japanese people are very interested towards Indonesia, especially Bali in terms of culture and tourism object. Thank you very much, Yumiko-san.

(Forever we will change, forever we will learn.)
